Something I haven't already read, please?

Was it me or was it you? Considering that most of you misunderstood the previous post - it's probably me! That list of books was there to tell you what kind of books I have read and loved. I didn't mean to ask you to pick 3 out of that list - in fact please exclude all the books on that list. I own them all, have read them all, love them all.

So let me make this request again - Please list 3 (or more) books that you love and think I'd love (that are not already on the list in the previous post).

From your suggestions I was able to get "Poisonwood Bible" and have added the others to my wish list and will get them as soon as they get back into stock.

And Terri, no, sadly I don't work for a publishing firm.

try case histories by kate atkinson, i am reading it currently and it is great. it is a genre stretcher with some wonderful touching writing and some really snappy dialogue. plus the timelines are all over the place. makes it a very engaging read.

may i recommend reading ved mehta - any of his books especially the early autobiographical stuff is really a very candid, detailed and above all very interesting journey of his life from small town india to becoming a top columnist in the new yorker, while overcoming his blindness and other associated problems along the way

if you like a bit of geeky, techy fiction,i would recommend anything by douglas coupland especially one of his early books, microserfs.

100 Years Of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Its a long read, if you'd prefer something slightly lighter, I'd recommend The House of the Spirits - Isabelle Allende.

Two Lives by Vikram Seth was pretty good too. It does get a bit tedious in parts, but I enjoyed it on the whole.

Maybe you might enjoy Midnight's Children - Salman Rushdie

Let us know what you finally bought !
